For a few years in his line of career, John was a stand-up comedian in Cleveland. He won the 1991 Johnny Walker National Comedy Search after taking his comedy on the road for a year. On June 5, 1991, he performed at The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson after being spotted by comedy executive Jim McCawley.
Finishing his set, he looked to Carson for his approval. Here, Ed McMahon, guest Tony Bennett, and Carson waved Henton over to take a seat on Carson’s guest couch. It was during a commercial break that he was asked if he had an agent, and he said no.

Henton has made guest appearances on the sitcom One on One. One on One was an American sitcom created by Eunetta T. Boone and aired on UPN from September 3, 2001, to May 15, 2006.
Car Accident
