John Rogers Biography
John Rogers is an American anchor/reporter. He works for WFLA-TV, Virtual channel 8 in Tampa, Florida. In his profession, he has covered a vast majority of notable topics and stories over the years. He has also worked for many other stations in other roles before WFLA.
Outside journalism and media, he is an avid explorer. He likes learning new things and meeting new people. In addition, he is a supporter of the Seminoles.
John Rogers Early Life
As a child, he spent a lot of his summertime with his grandfather in the Pasco County in the Southwest Florida region. He got excited to move back there due to this. He attended the Florida State University from 2004. In 2008, he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Journalism and Mass Media studies.
John Rogers Career
John started off as a reporter for WFSU TV / FM Public Broadcasting. This began at the start of 2005 in Tallahassee, Florida. Towards the end of the year, he took on another job as a TV and Radio reporter at the Florida State University Communications. In September, the next year, she left both jobs and became an Internet reporter / Associate Producer at WCTV still in Tallahassee.
John Rogers got promoted to Anchor/Reporter in May 2008. He worked at this role until December 2009. He took on the same role at WALA-TV, Fox 10 News. His work was mostly as a fill-in anchor and multimedia journalist for the station. He left in February 2013, 3 years later. He became a Sarasota Bureau reporter for WFLA-TV. Here, he covered Sarasota and Manatee Counties for the channel. One of his most notable works was his meeting with Neil Armstrong and Gene Cernan in 2012. He also got the chance to fly aboard the world’s last airworthy B-29 Superfortress.
Over the years John Rogers has been a journalist, he has had several roles like; filling in TV reports for magazines, managing station websites, managing social media handles by constantly posting updates among others.
