Briones joined the original 1989 London production of Miss Saigon. At the time he was still an engineering student in the Philippines. Apart from assisting the organization of the auditions, Briones himself auditioned and became a member of the ensemble.
He was part of numerous touring productions of Miss Saigon eventually playing the Engineer. In 2014 he joined the original cast of the Miss Saigon West End revival on the role of the Engineer.
