At the age of eight, Jordan Pickford joined Sunderland’s Academy and progressed through the age groups before signing two-year scholarship terms in 2010. In 2011 he was promoted from the Academy to the reserve team.
In 2011 Jordan Pickford signed his first professional contract with Sunderland. In 2012 he signed a contract extension with the club.
On 21st January 2012, Jordan Pickford made his debut against Fleetwood Town while signed on loan for Conference Premier club Darlington. The initial month-long loan was subsequently extended until the end of April. Pickford went on to make seventeen appearances for Darlington, who were relegated.
