He was enrolled at the University of Miami in Florida. Tracking weather patterns and storms was always more of a hobby until my sophomore year. While there he essentially pre-med, then I officially ruled out medical school and decided to take something he loved and actually make a career out of it. That’s when he decided to double major in meteorology and broadcast journalism.

Josh Began his career in his my four years in South Florida, where lived through and tracked several tropical systems in classes and internships. Hurricane Katrina moved across Florida as a Category 1 before entering the Gulf of Mexico. Minor compared to what it would turn into, the storm left me dodging palm fronds, wielding a broken umbrella, walking home from class. That night, and through the rest of the 2005 Hurricane Season, I gained incredible respect for the power of tropical storms.
He got his first TV job in Harrisonburg, VA. It was a big change. He was back to four seasons and a much smaller town, but I loved it. That’s where he met his wife and where I learned so much about forecasting and working in television. I made lifelong friends and grew up a lot, quickly. I also had the opportunity to do a local Dancing with the Stars competition. That led to me moonwalking on TV and in front of a rather large live audience
Together with his wife and I wanted to get closer to home. When the opportunity came to take a job in D.C., I jumped on it. I was able to stay within Sinclair Broadcast Group and move from WKRC to WJLA. We are thrilled to be in Arlington, VA, almost equidistant from family north of Baltimore and in the Shenandoah Valley.
Exciting opportunities abound working in the Nation’s Capital and it’s fun to forecast the weather I grew up with. From nor’easters (already got the Blizzard of 2016!) to the heat waves, and tropical systems, (I got to fly into hurricane Joaquin with the NOAA Hurricane Hunters!) I can’t wait to see what else this career has to offer.
