In April 2010, Katie began her career as a meteorologist in Eugene, Oregon where she worked for KVAL as a reporter and anchor for the weekend weather report. She also started a segment called “Extreme Katie” which saw her try out various daring feats that included shark diving and lawnmower racing.
In April 2012, she became a reporter and morning meteorologist for KSKN/KREM in Spokane, Washington. She left the station in early 2016 and joined KLAS in Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked as a reporter and weekend meteorologist. As of 2019, she works for the Q13 Fox network in Seattle, Washington.
Boer was also a sports intern for KABS in Los Angeles, California from May 2007 to October the same year and for KING in Seattle, Washington from June 2008. She began her anchoring career in grand Grove, California working as a sports reporter and anchor for a local news station for 3 months. She then moved to Roseburg, Oregon in 2009 and joined KPIC as a multimedia journalist, reporter, and news anchor.
Katie was the Weekend Meteorologist and Reporter in Las Vegas, NV. But most of her stops in TV have remained around the Northwest, previously serving as the Weekday Morning Meteorologist at KREM 2 and KSKN in Spokane, WA, and was a weather anchor/reporter at KVAL in Eugene, OR. Prior to KVAL
