“It took me longer to see what was right in front of my face,” says Morse. They enjoyed dinner and drinks on the waterfront, and then Morse showed him one of her favorite Buffalo things: Shark Girl. On a rainy October 2019, about a year and a half after that first date, Paul got down on one knee in front of that same iconic spot and proposed marriage.
“I think I said, ‘Really?’” she recalls, laughing. “It’s one of those things where it’s such a huge life decision, but he is just the best decision. He is the kind of guy you want to marry. We laugh together all the time. I know he’ll always take care of me.”
The surprises continued. He took her to Falley Allen afterward, where 70 of their closest friends and family, some of whom had flown in for the occasion, waited to celebrate with them.
