When Kelly she was 16 years old wrote to television drama producers Prime Suspect to ask for work, and six months later she auditioned for a role in an episode of Prime Suspect 4: Inner Circle broadcast on ITV on May 7, 1995. Six years later she appeared again in the movie Last Orders alongside Helen Mirren.
On the British stage, Kelly Reilly established her initial reputation. She has played Desdemona in the 2009 production of ‘ Othello ‘ besides the protagonist in ‘ After Miss Julie, ‘ which won her a nomination for the Laurence Olivier Award.
