In a forest grove not far from a river, Bush Buck Camp has views of the Aitong Hills. The camp is a rustic bush camp aimed at the adventure safari market. The camp is affiliated to Bush Buck Adventures, a company that offers adventure travel and safaris.
There are 6 en~suite tents, with verandas. Each tent contains washstand, chair, table, water jug and glasses, baggage stand and torch. Meals are served in the dining tent; international dishes are prepared by the camp’s chef. Dietary requirements can be catered for, with advance notice. The camp is hosted by conservationists and safari guides, who join the guests around the campﬁre after dinner and share stories of their experiences.
Activities include game drives in Lemek Group Ranch and in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Zebra, impala, gazelle, wildebeest, elephant, hippo and baboon are often seen around camp during the day. The camp specialises in game walks, during which local Maasai guides introduce guests to bush skills such as reading animal spoor and learning the uses of indigenous flora. Longer walking safaris can be arranged, advance booking required. Guests, with a Maasai guide, spend l or2 nights away from the camp using lightweight camping equipment and dining under the stars.
