Kilimanjaro and Kibo Guest Houses
Kilimanjaro Guest House and Kibo Guest House are owned and managed by Kenya Wildlife Service, KWS. They are situated at Amboseli National Park headquarters.
Kilimanjaro Guest House has 3 bedrooms, 1 with a double and a single bed, l twin and 1 single. There is also a sitting room with doors leading to a veranda. Kibo Guest House has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double and a single bed and i twin. The sitting room is connected to the open plan dining room. Both houses have a bathroom with bath and shower and a fully equipped kitchen. The resident caretaker provides bed linen, towels, soap and loo paper. Generator electricity is provided from 6.30pm to 10pm.
As well as magniﬁcent views of Mt Kilimanjaro, highlights of the park include large herds of elephants in unusual swamp habitat. Other game includes lion, cheetah, leopard, black rhino, oryx and gerenuk. More than 425 bird species have been recorded.
Meshanani Gate is about 230km from Nairobi. By road, guests can drive through Namanga to Meshanani Gate or through Emali to either lremito or Olkelunyiet Gate. 4WD vehicles are recommended. The park gates are open from 6am to 7pm. Entry is by SafariCard only, which can be loaded at Meshanani Gate.
