“I did odd jobs here and there, selling stuff. One day, a friend told me about an opening for actors/actresses at KTN. I jumped on it, but I did not get the part. But while at the station’s offices, I made a few friends and asked around for other openings. I also made contact with KTN’s Michael Oyier, who was also my mum’s friend. Afterward, I kept calling, emailing and showing up to inquire if there were vacancies. I was willing to do whatever it took to get my dream job,” says Grace Msalame.
Eventually, Michael introduced her to Misiko Andere the then Art Scene presenter, who at the time, was looking for an intern. “A few weeks later, a youth show- Straight Up was coming up and they needed a young host. I was asked to try it out and I impressed the producer. We were trained by veterans like Katherine Kasavuli, Michael Oyier, and Misiko Andere, who I got to learn from first hand,” she explains.
Grace went on to do Straight Up from 2005 to 2007. Afterwards, she left the station to pursue her degree at Daystar University. A year into her studies, KTN called her to come and host Art Scene. And when the show ended, she moved to Capital FM, where she worked as a radio presenter.
Since August 2015 she has been the Content and Acquisitions Manager of Bamba Tv. Schedules, monitors and create Marketing Material for the Multi-Channel PlatForm.

“Those who know me, know my body is genetic. I am getting fatter as I grow older. My hormones are all over the place, so if I eat badly and don’t work out as I should, these are the results, but that’s probably too boring for blogs! They need to juice up the story with fabrications,”

She was once trending on the internet after allegations that she was dating her boss Patrick Quarcoo. A series of leaked screenshots allegedly from Radio Africa’s former employee Evans Gikunda’s phone, a web developer, indicated that Msalame was secretly dating Quarcoo, who allegedly bought her a BMW X5.
She addressed the rumors through her website and she wrote:
“This year has been one thing after another. Online stories since January! I call them stories because that’s all they are! Some are more fabricated than others, with the newest one making me a proud new owner of a BMW X5. My family and friends saw that story and laughed it. They asked me why I had kept it a secret because those who know me know how uneventful and boring my life really is. I am simple and still drive my ‘Dudu’ as I fondly call my VW Polo!”

Media personality Grace Msalame has announced her comeback on TV screens after a four-year hiatus. The sassy presenter has landed a deal with NTV and will be hosting a new lifestyle show- Unscripted by Grace.
Msalame is known for her love to be on the screens and she is always open about her career and love for working on TV.
She was first introduced to viewers as a teenager in 2005 when she co-hosted KTN’s Straight Up alongside Andrew Siro up to 2007. After pursuing her degree, she returned to KTN as Art Scene host for four years before moving to Capital FM as a news presenter.
She later switched to Radio Africa Group where she stayed for seven years starting off as a Kiss TV host, and rising through the ranks to be the Bamba TV Manager.
Late last year, Msalame underwent surgery to remove fibroids.
Fibroids are abnormal growths that develop in or on the uterus, especially after birth. They are typically benign and noncancerous. However, sometimes they become large and cause severe abdominal pain and heavy periods.
The mother of twins has been sharing life hacks on her YouTube channel and finally it seems that her hard work and vital content has paid off as now she will have a whole show to share ‘her story.’
