Jimmy Gait Music Career
His debut album Muhathara was released in 2008. Soon after his “Muhadhara” hit went viral, perhaps thanks to the fact that many people could relate to its storyline, Jimmy went ahead to do collaborations with other gospel artistes.
Most recently, Jimmy flew down to South Africa for his “Makekes” collaboration alongside Papa Dennis and their video was shot by the renowned Clarence Peters who has worked alongside top African stars like P-Square.
Soon after Makekes, he did a well-choreographed video “Mzuka huu” which featured most of the current gospel stars. In the song, Jimmy appreciates all those artistes whose impressive works are putting the gospel industry ahead and his passion is evident in his works.
Besides music, Jimmy Gait started the “Make it or Make it” campaign which saw top industry players come through to motivate and encourage youngsters to be the best and push their limits because in this life one has to ‘make it’ by all means.

Jimmy Gait Praying For A Wife As He Condemns Ringtone’s Social Media Stunts
Jimmy who only returned from India three weeks ago after receiving treatment for a throat condition, asked Kenyans to pray for him as the search for the right woman starts.
Speaking to Baruthi wa Thayu, the singer said he wants to marry a Kikuyu woman who can cook for him. Gospel singer Jimmy Gait is looking to settle down with a Proverbs 31 sort of woman.
“Pray for me so I can get a wife who will cook for me. A Proverbs 31 wife,” Jimmy Gait said.
The crooner also spoke about fellow artiste Ringtone Apoko’s wife search craze that took him all the way to Tanzania.
According to him, Ringtone’s search needs to end especially on social media.
“That is childish because God is the one who gives a wife. He should stop looking for a partner on social media,” he declared.
Ringtone has been looking for the perfect woman to settle down with, with little to no success. In June, for example, he was briefly arrested outside Cooporative University for causing disturbance.
“Prayers please Is it crime to look for wife? he posed.
Jimmy Gait Explains More About His Health Result
“This is because your voice would have permanently changed. You couldn’t have been able to sing. That was truly shocking and I couldn’t believe my ears,” Gait said.
In an earlier interview with Word Is, he said he has been unwell for more than a year. “When I contacted doctors in Nairobi for treatment, they listened to my case and gave me medication, but the problem persisted,” he said.
He then sought services of two other local doctors, who recommended surgery “without running tests on me”.
“They were very transactional and they quoted very high figures for me that I could truly tell they were after money, not to help me,” he said.
When he went to India, he went through several tests to diagnose his problem. The doctors found out increased acid production in the stomach had caused an infection.
Gait’s treatment will last around six weeks, and he’s happy that he sought the services of a professional in good time. “If Kenyan doctors operated on me, the problem wouldn’t have been sorted out because it’s in my stomach. The doctors here (India) told me it would have graduated into stomach cancer,” he said.
He is thankful to his fans for the support and he said, “Thank you for prayers because they change things. God turned my story around.”
Adding, “When I was coming here I was afraid of what would happen, but thank God for everything.
“My voice has been saved, my career and ministry have been saved, and I give God all the glory. Thank you for standing with me.”
