Mara Eden Safari Camp
On the banks of the Talek River, Mara Eden Safari Camp overlooks both the river and the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The camp, established in 2011, is a small and intimate tented camp with an emphasis on culture—based safaris.
There are 8 en-suite tents, made up of singles and doubles. All tents are raised on wooden decks and have 24—hour solar lighting and unique wooden showers. The lounge, with dining area and bar, is in the centre of the camp, and is raised on a wooden deck overlooking the river. Lunch is served on the riverbank; dinner is served under the stars or in the dining area. A campfire in front of the deck makes a lovely place for a sundowner. WiFi and charging facilities are available in the lounge. The camp is mostly built from naturai materials and aims to leave as small a footprint on the land as possible.
Activities include game drives and guided bush walks. Maasai cultural story telling takes place around the fire in the evening and an astronomy talk is offered after dinner. Children‘s activities include local pottery and Maasai archery. The camp supports local Maasai Women in making charcoal from cow dung. which reduces deforestation while providing fuel and income to the community.
Our tents are placed along the banks of the mara river, with a seating area at the front for relaxed game and bird viewing.
All the tents have hot and cold running water, a flush toilet, 24 hour solar lighting and tasteful décor
The dining tent is centrally placed, having guest tents on either side.
It has a dining area that seats 30 guests and a lounge area with a fully stocked bar.
From our adjoining kitchen we serve a full English breakfast, a 3 course lunch and a 4 course dinner.
Tea and coffee are available throughout the day.
