Semadep Safari Camp
Semadep Safari Camp was established in 2006 and is run by Semadep Maasai community organisation. The camp is located on a hillside near Sekenani Gate. Just outside the Maasai Mara National Reserve. it offers budget accommodation and camping, as well as an introduction to the Maasai way of life.
There are 3 en-suite tents, that can be doubles or singles as required. The tents are located in solid structures with thatched roofs and stone floors.
There is also a campsite, and 2 standard tents for hire. Locally sourced and traditionally prepared Maasai dishes are served in the dining area.
Drinks are- served around the campfire in the evenings A kitchen with basic facilities is available for guests who prefer the self-catering option.
Guests can do self-drive game drives into the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Vehicles and drivers can be arranged if requested in advance.
Other activities include walking in the hills overlooking the Maasai Mara National Reserve, visiting Ewangan cultural village, traditional Maasai dancing and Maasai cultural talks around the campfire at night.
Semadep community project was established in 1997. It supports community welfare projects that benefit the entire community in areas like health, education and tourism.
