In summer 2015, Lawley starred as Cameron in his first film, The Chosen. The film premiered at the 2015 VidCon convention. At the 2015 Teen Choice Awards, he won the award for Choice YouTuber. In 2016, Lawley co-starred with Bella Thorne in the comedy Shovel Buddies. In March 2016, the film was selected and premiered at SXSW Festival.
