Kirsty Gallacher born as Kirsty Jane Gallacher is a Scottish presenter, known for her works in Sky Sports News, RI: SE, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night, Takeaway, and Gladiators.

She also won a “Platinum Award” for Best Entertainment Programme at the 2002 Houston International Film Festival.

Jane was married to Paul Sampson on 24 July 2010  though they began living together since 1999. The couple dated for some time before they decided to convert their alleged affair into a marital relationship in 2010 and began living happily married life. The couple has two sons; Oscar Paul Sampson and Jude Sidney Sampson. Unfortunately in 2015, after nearly four years of their wedding, the two decided to split.

Career

She began working as a production assistant in 1996 before she moved on to the position of editorial assistant on Sky Sports. She got her presenting break on Sky Sports News in 1998, and since then has been associated with many other sports shows such as 90 Minutes, Soccer Extra, Kirsty and Phil (on BBC Radio 5 Live) and Soccer AM. She hosted the Sky 1 show Kirsty’s Home Videos from 2000 to 2004, a satellite equivalent of  ITV’s You’ve Been Framed! in which viewers send in home videos to be screened. She won Satellite/Digital TV Personality at the 2002 Television and Radio Industries Club Awards, and Kirsty’s Home Videos won her the following year’s Satellite/Digital Programme award in 2003.

She won the third series of the popular Channel 4 reality television series The Games and then presented the following years alongside Jamie Theakston.  she released a DVD entitled Body Sculpt with Kirsty Gallacher in which she shows a variety of workouts. In July 2006, she co-presented the BBC reality TV show Only Fools on Horses.

She then presented the new version of Gladiators on Sky1 alongside Ian Wright in 2008 but did not return for the second series.

She appeared in several more shows and on 27 October 2015,  it was confirmed that Kirsty would be taking part in the 2015 series of Strictly Come Dancing. On 5 September 2015, it was announced Gallacher would be paired with professional dancer Brendan Cole for the series. The couple was eliminated on week 6 after finishing eleventh. It was announced that she was leaving Sky Sports in May 2018.

Afternoon Kirsty.
And a good afternoon to you Small Talk.

Small Talk is the wee column that asks big questions, Kirsty, so no messing about. Is God a man or a woman? 
[Emphatically] God’s a man. He’s very much a man. I’ve never thought of God as female or asexual. He’s all man, that’s all I’m saying.

Hmmm. Small Talk has always seen Him as more of a transcendent holy spirit beyond mortal things like gender. But anyway, what are you doing at the moment?
I’m competing in the [sponsor alert!] Volkswagen Touareg King Of Cowes during Cowes Week in August. I’ve been practising today. Sailing is a completely new sport for me and I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’ve definitely got the bug. [Sudden gravity descends] It’s a serious race and I don’t want to let anyone down. I won my first race today though.

What kind of skills do you need in sailing? Pipe smoking? Beard growing? Whale harpooning?
Well, you’ve got to be quick and strong to handle all the ropes and sails. You’ve also got to be nimble to get about the boat and be willing to listen to your skipper.

Ah, but you’ve always been sporty. You were quite a useful golfer in your day, no? What was your handicap?
I used to play a lot as a junior at Wentworth – I think my handicap at its lowest was 15. [Modestly] I was a competent player.

You’ve got more important things to concentrate on these days, presenting the relaunched Gladiators. 
Yeah, it’s been well received, hasn’t it? [Tentatively] Have you seen it?

What are you talking about? There’s been a pugel stick-shaped hole in Small Talk’s life since the old Gladiators with its low-rent homoeroticism and mildly offensive names left telly.
Yeah, the new one is different though: it needed to be different and modernised. The Gladiators are superb athletes though – Battleaxe is a brilliant hammer thrower.

Who’s the nicest sportsman you’ve ever worked with?
Gazza. He is a genuinely good person and it’s upsetting to see him having his troubles. I played golf with him and he was a brilliant golfer too. He was funny and very kind. It would be horrible to see him ending up like George Best.
