Koyuki Kato (加藤 小雪), is a Japanese model and actress. She made her first international film The Last Samurai where she played Taka, wife of a Samurai slain by the character Nathan Algren, portrayed by Tom Cruise. She appeared in Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s 2001 film Pulse. She also appeared in Blood: The Last Vampire live-action film starring Jun Ji-hyun, where she plays Onigen, the arch-villain.
Her first chance to enter the world of performing arts came when a close friend in senior high school suggested they both participate in the competition of a magazine looking for models among its readers. At 19, She was a professional model. She began appearing on magazine covers and in fashion shows and ads. Two years later she made her first appearance as a TV actress .
Since her international debut, she has never looked back. She has numerous movies and TV series to her credit. She has won several awards, including the Nikkan Sports Film Award, and has even been shortlisted at the Japanese Academy Awards. She remains an active part of the industry and is currently managed by Avex Management Inc.
