Lacey Sturm born Lacey Nicole Sturm is an American singer and songwriter born in Homestead, Florida, but raised in Arlington, Texas. She is a co-founder and lead vocalist of the hard rock band Flyleaf. In February 2016, Sturm became the first solo female artist to top the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart with her debut release Life Screams.
Sturm started to play with drummer James Culpepper in 2000. The pair performed with guitarists Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya. In 2002, Pat Seals, Flyleaf’s current bassist, joined, composing a group named Passerby. For legal reasons, they renamed themselves Flyleaf in June 2004.
