Langata Nairobi Kenya
Langata is a suburb of Nairobi in Kenya, lying south west of the city center and east of Karen. The suburb consists of many smaller housing estates, referred to simply as estates, including Nairobi Dam estate, Southlands, Jambo estate, Otiede, Ngei, Onyonka, Madaraka Estate, Rubia and many others. These estates are primarily maisonettes or apartment blocks.
Langata has several attractions such as the Giraffe Centre, the Uhuru (freedom) gardens, and a tourist village Bomas of Kenya. Lang’ata also has the world-famous Carnivore Restaurant and adjoining Carnivore grounds, where many concerts are hosted. Wilson Airport, the largest private airport in Kenya, can also be found in Langata. Langata also has a gate to the Nairobi National Park.
Langata is also the name of the Langata Constituency, which covers affluent estates Karen and Langata, but numerically most its voters come from Kibera, the largest slum in Kenya. The MP of Lang’ata is Raila Odinga, a powerful politician in Kenya.

Security in Langata is relatively safe during the day from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. During the evenings the security situation has proved a bit tricky with a number of reported carjackings and muggings, especially in the recent past.

Kibera – Housing comprises of three, two and single bedrooms which range from Ksh 15,000, Ksh 10,000 and Ksh8,000 respectively. Some single bedrooms at Karanja Estate go for Ksh 2,000 per month
