Then, in July of 2018, the Carr Fire spawned a ‘firenado’ that ripped into the city of Redding. It was followed three months later by the most recent disaster, The Camp Fire. All three experiences have made Lauren a stronger and a more humble journalist.

PARADISE IRRIGATION DISTRICT LOOKS FOR WATER-SAMPLE VOLUNTEERS
PARADISE, Calif. – The Paradise Irrigation District said it is planning intensified water sampling for the first two weeks in June. The district is asking for customers with standing homes or businesses to volunteer to allow water sampling. Those willing to volunteer can shut off their water from June 1-15. AUTHORITIES IDENTIFY MAN KILLED IN SHOOTING ON HIGHWAY 70
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim in a shooting on Highway 70 Wednesday night as Alejandro Escobar, 36, of Sacramento. The second victim was treated at a local hospital and released overnight for a minor injury.
