On Lady & Gentlemen of 2011, she interpreted songs by male country artists. Her later albums included Spitfire of 2013, her final record for the Curb imprint, and Remnants 2016.

From 1997 to early 2000, Rimes worked on and released several other albums. This period also saw her transition from country music to pop. After experimenting with pop music for almost ten years, she returned to country music in 2005 with the release of her seventh studio album called This Woman. The album was a huge success, as it became her best-selling album in over five years, selling more than 100,000 copies within the first week of its release.
