Vincent is also a co-author of 10 books. Her best-known solo work is Same Kind of Different as Me: A Modern-Day Slave, an International Art Dealer, and the Unlikely Woman Who Bound Them Together.
Vincent also co-wrote Sarah Palin‘s 2009 memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life. She wrote with Todd Burpo, Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back in 2010. It is the story of the four-year-old son of a Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery visits heaven.
She is a U.S. Navy veteran who has spent 11 years as an investigative reporter and feature writer for WORLD magazine, a conservative Christian newsweekly. Vincent also lectured on writing at the World Journalism Institute, and at The King’s College in New York City.

Heaven Is for Real, details that during the months after emergency surgery, Colton began describing events and people it was impossible for him to have seen or met, such as his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born. The book wazs released in November 2010 and within three weeks it debuted at #3 on the New York Times bestseller list.
There were 200,000 copies in print, and the book hit #1 on the New York Times list by January 2011.
Tristar Pictures released a movie version of Heaven is for Real, co-written and directed by Randall Wallace, and starring Greg Kinnear (as Todd Burpo), Kelly Reilly (as Sonja Burpo), Connor Corum (as Colton Burpo) and Margo Martindale and Thomas Haden Church in April 2014.
