Before the launch of her career, she did stage productions of classical plays like A Christmas Carol Snow White and Macbeth.

She also played Lizzie Spaulding on the CBS soap Guiding Light from October 2000 to August 2002. She was originally cast as IIse in July 2008 at the 1st National Tour of the hit Broadway musical Spring Awakening. She turned it down so she can be in a musical A Tale of Two Cities. Based on one of Charles Dicken’s most popular novels, A Tale of Two Cities which is set against the backdrop of the French Revolution and centers on the themes of injustice, vengeance, and the redemptive power of love. Mauzy played The Seamstress in the musical, which was executive produced by Barbara Russell and Ron Sharpe.
