Kasowitz is a highly prosperous American trial attorney and lawyer, widely acknowledged as one of the nation’s outstanding legal figures. He is the co-founder of the prestigious New York-based law firm, Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP, founded in 1993. Kasowitz worked for the law firm Mayer Brown until 1993. He left Mayer Brown together with 18 other lawyers, and two clients to found the Kasowitz Benson Torres law firm.
After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, he defended the Port Authority of New Jersey and New York in a lawsuit filed by victims of the attack. In 2005, the Port Authority was ruled to be careless. He has also defended Bill O’Reilly from allegations of sexual harassment, who was eventually forced out at Fox News in April 2017.
Earlier successes for Kasowitz included getting a $300 million settlement on behalf of 3,500 Alabama residents who were allegedly antagonized by seepage from a Monsanto Company plant manufacturing PCBs.
