At WWE she performs on the cruiserweight-exclusive 205 Live brand as the manager of her real-life husband Mike Kanellis. Maria is best known for her time in World Wrestling Entertainment and Ring of Honor. Maria also worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where she is a one-time TNA Knockouts Champion.

Maria competed in a WWE ring for the first time since late October 2018. On Sunday night, 27 January 2019, Maria was one of the 30 competitors in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
In recent weeks, Maria was subject to numerous reports as Pro Wrestling Sheet originally reported that both she and her husband Mike Kanellis had asked WWE for their releases. Ryan Satin had reported saying, “Sources tell us the Kanellis’ have been unhappy with the way they’ve been used in WWE for a while and finally made the decision a few weeks ago to request their releases.”
Later, when asked about the reporting, Maria responded to a fan on Twitter saying, “Everyone thinks they know everything. Hahahahaha…. it’s social media, not an autobiography.”
On the Sunday Royal Rumble Match, Maria attempted to form an alliance with Alicia Fox and it seemed to work at first until Maria grabbed Fox’s captain’s hat and stomped it with her boot. Moments later she was eliminated by Alicia Fox.
