Mulholland began at WNYT in 1992 after operating as sports director at Channel 8 in Glens Falls (where he worked with Lydia Kulbida and Andy Gregorio). While at Channel 8, he also worked at WXXA hosting “Monday Night Quarterback,” a weekly show about the Albany Firebirds, and hosted a pre-game and halftime show for Boston Celtics games.
However, his first job at WNYT was reporting from the “Operations Center.” He was assigned to listen to police and fire scanners and call the police all night. He would thereafter go on air with a 1-minute update early in the 11 o’clock news and then another update at the end.
Mulholland finally transferred to reporting three nights a week and anchoring sports on weekends. These days, he reports five days a week out of a small newsroom on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, covering news in Saratoga, Warren, and Washington counties.
