Keep On Keepin On was a single by MC Lyte featuring Xscape from the Sunset Park soundtrack. The song was produced and co-written by Jermaine Dupri together with sampled Michael Jackson’s 1989 single “Liberian Girl”. Later on, it appeared on MC Lyte’s fifth studio album, Bad As I Wanna B.

The song became MC Lyte’s highest-charting single in the U.S., peaking at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and also became her second single to achieve gold certification from the RIAA, earning the award on May 31, 1996.MC Lyte performed this song when she appeared in the second season of the UPN sitcom Moesha in November 1996.

Cha Cha Cha was the lead single from MC Lyte’s second album Eyes on This. It was produced by King Of Chill, who also has songwriting credits, it was released on September 8, 1989. The song stayed 18 weeks on the recently created Billboard Hot Rap Singles and became one of the first songs to peak at No. 1 on that chart, staying there for two weeks in December 1989.

However, MC Lyte had already reached #1 on Rap chart a few months earlier with the collaborative single “Self Destruction”, this was the first time that a woman had achieved it as the lead artist.
