Michael A. Corriero Judge
Judge Michael was the founder and executive director of the New York Center for Juvenile Justice. He worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City as the Executive Director from July 2008 to July 2010.
He formerly served as a judge in the New York State courts for 28 years. For 16 years, he was the head of Manhattan’s Youth Part, a special court he founded within the State Supreme Court to deal with young people charged as adults under the state’s Juvenile Offender Statute.
The Youth Part became a model for organizing and coordinating care and social services for children convicted in adult courts under Judge Corriero’s leadership. He is currently a judge on Hot Bench, a syndicated court show produced by CBS Television Distribution.
Around the world, he is regarded as a leading expert in the field of criminal justice. In addition to Israel, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Kazakhstan, and Peru, Judge Corriero has lectured and represented legal institutions in a variety of countries.

Judy Sheindlin, a former Manhattan family court judge and prosecution lawyer, produced the show. On September 15, 2014, Hot Bench premiered in first-run syndication. On September 10, 2018, it returned for its fifth season. During the 2017-2018 season, Hot Bench was the #3 first-run show on daytime television, with 3.2 million regular viewers.
