News Center Maine
Slifer is currently working for News Center Mainer-WCSH 6 & WLBZ 2. He joined the news team in August 2019. Slifer’s love for the weather started when he was just a small child. He told his parents that he wanted to be a meteorologist. In high school, he focused more on meteorology programs and eventually settled on the atmospheric science program at SUNY Albany. In May 2015, he became a Meteorology Intern at NBC Connecticut.
He helped make forecasts, make weather graphics in WSI Max, and also assisted in live broadcasts. His internship ended by practicing weathercasts in front of the green screen. He then joined National Weather Service as an intern in August 2015. He also interned for WTEN in Albany, New York for 6 months. In August 2016, he joined WVNS 59 News in Ghent, WV as the Weekday morning meteorologist. At News Center Maine, he works together with meteorologists Keith Carson.
