Mykel Hawke Biography
Mykel Hawke (full name: Mykel Hawke Pierce) is an American retired U.S. Army Special Forces officer, author, and television and film personality born on 29th November 1965 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, U.S. He is popularly known for his TV programs Man, Woman, Wild and One Man Army on Discovery Channel.
Mykel has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UNY and MS in Family Counselling from UCA. He is a black belt holder in Aikido and judo.
Every year Hawke works as a Challenge Designer & Judge for the International Warrior Competition conducted in Amman, Jordan. The competitors come from around the world to include Europe, North America, Africa, Asia & The Middle East. 2016 & 2017. The challenges include running, swimming, rope climbing, rappelling and other military related activities combined with extreme shooting to include automatic rifles, pistols, shotguns and sniper rifles.
Hawke is also a Professor of Survival for American Survival Guide University, Miami, Florida specializing in Wilderness Medicine, Communications, Intelligence, Self Defense & Family Readiness.

Mykel Hawke Military Service
In 1982, Hawke joined the US Army, serving on active duty for 12 years. He also served in the Reserves and Guard for 12 more years. He served as a Sergeant First Class (E-7) and later as an Officer, 18A.
He attained the rank of captain, retiring as a captain from the U.S. Army Special Forces Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 2011.
In the military. he fought rebels and trained UN peacekeepers in war-torn Africa and during the drug war in Colombia he did combat search and rescue missions.
Mykel held three Enlisted, Special Forces Military Occupational Skills (MOS) Special Forces Medic, 18D, Special Forces Communicator, 18E and Special Forces Intelligence Operations, 18F.
Mykel Hawke Knives
Mykel Hawke designs a line of knives, Mykel Hawke Knives, which included the popular Harrier and Peregrine. The line expanded to cover the full outdoor adventure spectrum with The Hawke Brand. He later introduced the HASP axe and Hawkchete.
Mykel Hawke TV Shows
In 2010 Hawke with his wife Ruth Hawke were featured in the television show Man, Woman, Wild. They had to survive for a half week with limited supplies in wild and inhospitable locations around the world. The show run for two years before ending in 2012.
In 2011 Hawke hosted One Man Army on the Discovery Channel where personnel with backgrounds of special operations, military, law enforcement, and extreme sports, competed in three areas of speed, strength, and intelligence to win prize money. The show ended in 2012.
In 2013, the Travel Channel released six episodes of ‘Lost Survivors’, a show that featured Hawke and his wife Ruth. The couple were in remote areas around the world and had minimal supplies and few clues of their whereabouts. They relied on each others instinct, expertise and the strength of each other in order to rescue themselves.
Mykel was also featured in the ‘Science of Survival’, a short lived Discovery Channel’s series. In Episode 2, Escape from the Amazon, Mykel spent three days in Amazon.

Mykel Hawke Philanthropy
Mykel works with may charities like the Gold Star Teen Adventures (GSTA), an organisation which works with children whose fathers were from any of the Special Operations Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force & Marines) and were killed in combat. The organisation focuses on teaching teens the types of things their fathers would if they were still alive. They learn skills such as hunting, fishing, scuba diving, camping, hiking, sailing, et al.
