Speaking of his career, Lovell disclosed in his biography that he chose his stage names, “Night” because he is usually more productive and creative at nights, and “Lovel” because that’s his father’s middle name. Growing up he listened to his favorite high-profile hip hop artists, the likes of Biggie, Jay Z, AC/DC, and Wiz Khalifa.

Filled with passion for hip hop music and the urge to become famous, he decided to make beats on his own using Fruity Loops (FL Studio), i.e in 2013. In October 2014, he released his debut single track, Dark Light via SoundCloud, and it became an instant hit, racking over 14 million spins—the single’s official visual has amassed over 18 million views on YouTube.

In August that same year, he dropped I’ll Be Back, his debut EP that featured rapper, Fifty Grand. His debut mixtape, Concept Vague, was independently released in December 2014. It was supported by the singles Concept Nothing, Deira City Center, Trees Of The Valley, and Live Television. Lovell’s 2015 singles include Shaded Summers and Fraud. He collaborated on the track Give Me The Keys with Dylan Brady. Lovell’s debut album, Red Teenage Melody, was released in June 2016.

It was led by the single Contraband. Other notable tracks from the project include Still Cold / Pathway Private, Boy Red, I’m Okay and Louis V.
