In her freshmen year, she started 27 games and averaged 15 points and seven rebounds. For her sophomore year, she averaged 20.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.7 steals per game.

Nina Westbrook hopes new store will provide more than just shopping experience
OKLAHOMA CITY —Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook has left his mark on Oklahoma City. Now, Basketball player Nina Earl turn.
Nina Westbrook has started a new venture by opening a store in the heart of the city. She said she hopes the store is more than just a shopping experience.
“It was time to put my stamp down here in Oklahoma City,” Nina Westbrook said. “This is my home. I spend the majority of my time here.”Her store, The Little Ark, opened in Nichols Hills. The name is a reference to the Westbrooks’ son, Noah.
“It made sense to me to kind of pay some kind of attention to that without naming the store Noah,” Nina Westbrook said. Before The Little Ark’s grand opening, KOCO 5’s Abigail Ogle got a tour of the store and some of the items it will sell.
“I kind of always had the second nature to want to take care of friends and family,” said Nina Westbrook, who also is a marriage and family therapist. “I wanted to kind of marry the two ideas of retail and also my marriage and family therapy background with the classes and the family aspect.”
Nina Westbrook said she wants The Little Ark to feel like a community instead of just a store.”Everybody needs that support system,” she said. “I hope to bring that environment — storytime for babies and dance time so they can dance all of their energy out. I hope to get some specialists in here to talk about different topics, like CPR and first aid, lactation specialists.”
And will her MVP husband have an influence on the store?”It’s pretty much my project,” Nina Westbrook said. “He came by the store and he was just blown away.”Shoppers will be able to tell basketball has had an influence on the store’s merchandise. Nina Westbrook played college basketball at UCLA, where the Westbrooks first met.
Along with baby and basketball items, Basketball player Nina Earl wanted The Little Ark to have variety.”If you think of an ark, the ark houses a little bit of everything,” she said. “So, that’s the kind of idea that we have here. It’s a labor of love, and I’ve had so much help and support from different people in the community.”
Basketball player Nina Earl is now working to give back to the Oklahoma City community she officially calls home.”A great way to meet people and kind of develop a network, a community of people where people feel supported,” she said.
