Tony’s first major role was in the Mexican telenovela Rebelde. Rebelde is an adaptation of the Argentine series Rebelde Way that ran from 2004 to 2006. In 2004, he had hi first film role in Matando where he starred and co-wrote the screenplay. He later starred and wrote the script for Sultanes del Sur (2007). He is also known for starring in include Love, Pain and Vice Versa (2008); and La Dictadura Perfecta (2014).

In 2008, Tony had a supporting role on the HBO Latinoamérica series Cappadocia. He later starred as the lead in the HBO series Sr. Ávila, which won the International Emmy award for Best Non-English Language Series in 2017.
