“Clybourne Park” is the year 2010 play that was written, produced, and directed by Bruce Norris. It is a spin-off to a 1959 “A Raisin in the Sun” play by Lorraine Hansberry. The play depicts fictional events that were set during and after the “A Raisin in the Sun” play and is slightly related to the historical events that happened in Chicago City.

The pay was released on 1st February 2010 on Playwrights Horizons, in New York City and later to other countries. Bruce won The Pulitzer Prize for Drama Award on 18th April 2011 for his “Clybourne Park” play.

The awarding team described the play as “a powerful work whose memorable characters speak in witty and perceptive ways to America’s sometimes toxic struggle with race and class consciousness.” The play had previously earned the “Oliver Prize” in August 2010 for being the “Best New Play” after it was produced at the Royal Court Theatre in London.
