Jessica moved to the Panama City area in 2004 from Atlanta and has been an active member of the community since that time. She has more than 10 years of news experience in Panama City as a TV news anchor, reporter, and meteorologist. In 2008, she was awarded the Distinguished Young Alumni Award from The University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism.
Before moving to the Florida Panhandle, Jessica worked at CBS 46 in Atlanta as an Associate Producer while still in college. She also has experience as the Main Anchor for “Georgia Gameday,” a news and sports show that aired live before all Georgia Bulldog home games. Jessica gained radio experience in Athens, Georgia as the News Director for WUOG.

It is a difficult diagnosis to face, but there are many reasons to be thankful. For one, this cancer was caught very early. She had no lump. The cancer was detected during a yearly mammogram.
Most women do not have mammograms until they are at least 40. However, Jessica’s journey to detecting this cancer actually began five years ago when she did feel a suspicious lump during a self-exam.
At that time, Jessica went through a mammogram and additional screenings. The finding was a benign cyst. She had no cancer, but that scare put me on a path of yearly mammograms.
Year after year, nothing alarming appeared on my mammograms, but this year was different. Dr. Lindsey Weintritt-Davis from Bay Radiology Women’s Imaging Center discovered a new development when she had her mammogram in June.
While she navigates through this process, Jessica appreciates your love and prayers. She truly believes in the power of prayer. I also hope you’ll follow along on social media and as we bring you updates on-air.
My hope is that by sharing this story, Jessica can help other women. She can’t stress enough how important early detection is when dealing with cancer. Please get your yearly mammograms and do your self-exams. Because of early detection, my prognosis is excellent.
