Pat McAfee is a former American football punter. He is currently an American football and WWE analyst. He played eight seasons for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football(NFL). In the 2009 NFL Draft, he was drafted by the Colts in the seventh round.

High School
He attended Plum High School in his hometown of Plum, Pennsylvania where he played both soccer and football. He borrowed $100 from a friend and played poker at an illegal poker club turning the $100 into $1,400. He used the money to finance a trip to Miami to participate in the final day of a national competition highlighting the best field goal kicking prospects in America.
He made 9 consecutive field goals starting at 25 yards and moving five yards out each time. He was approached by Tony Gibson West Virginia’s recruiting coordinator who offered him a scholarship.
College career
Freshman season
As a freshman, he earned the starting job at West Virginia. He had 70 kickoffs for the season with 20 being touchbacks. His most memorable moment came against Louisville in 46-44 triple-overtime win where he had a successful onside kick.
Sophomore season
In the Gator Bowl in a game against Georgia Tech, the Mountaineers won the game. They also won 10 games.
Junior season
He began his junior season with a missed extra point against Western Michigan, which ended his 106 consecutive extra points. In the Fiesta Bowl, he finished the season with a 2 for 4 performance, having one kick blocked by Oklahoma. Following the Bowl season, he was named to the ESPN All-Bowl Team.
In 2007 he was named to the Lou Groza Award semi-finalist list for the best collegiate kicker. He was also named second-team All-Big East and earned Big East Special Team Player of the week honors thrice in 2007. For the second consecutive year, he earned West Virginia’s Scott Shirley Award.
Senior season
He started his senior year in a 48-21 season-opening victory over Villanova. He managed to kick two field goals that include a career-long 52 yards, 6 extra points, and two punts. In a 27-3 win over Marshall, he became the school record holder for all-time scoring with a field goal, passing Slaton.
On field goals, he went two for two on field goals to move to the third place for the Big East record of career field goals made in a 34–17 victory over Auburn. On November 8 his most memorable performance of the season came against Cincinnati.
He finished his senior year with a career-best 44.7 yards per punt average, a Big East-leading 23 punts inside the 20-yard line and a career-high 2,639 yards with a 65-yard long.
Pat McAfee Professional career
He was invited to the 2009 Senior Bowl in Alabama following his senior season at WVU. In the Senior Bowl, he started as the team’s kicker. He performed in the 11th annual State Farm College Football All-Star Challenge.
The Indianapolis Colts drafted him in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft. In 2009 he handled punting and kick-off duties for the Colts. He posted a 48.2- yard average on punts and he announced that had signed a five-year contract to remain with the Colts. In September 2014 he was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the month.
After 8 seasons on February 2, 2017, he retired from the NFL and stated that he intended to join Barstool Sports as a contributor.
