Patrick Corbin Biography
Patrick Corbin is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Arizona Diamondbacks. At Cicero-North Syracuse High School, Corbin did not pitch for his high school’s baseball team until his junior season.
Patrick Corbin Age
Corbin was born on 19 July 1989 (age 30 years as of 2019), Clay, New York, United States.
Patrick Corbin Wife
Patrick Corbin married his wife Jen Corbin in 2018.
When hen Patrick Corbin and the Washington Nationals punched their ticket into the post-season, the celebration in the team clubhouse was exactly as you’d expect: champagne showers everywhere and the entire team partying like crazy. While the Nationals players’ wives and families joined in, no one immersed themselves quite Corbin’s wife, Jen Ancone Corbin.
The beautiful wife of the starting pitcher has known Corbin since high school, and when he proposed, he had fooled her into thinking they were on their way to take team photos when actually it was a huge set up to have a hired photographer on hand.
The fun couple got married on November 17, 2018, in Scottsdale, Arizona, and even though they purchased a home in the Diamondbacks area around the same time, Corbin went on to sign 6-year $140 million contracts the Nationals in December 2018, and have since partially relocated to Washington.
It appears Corbin and Jen have quickly acclimated to the D.C. area, and have formed a tight bond with the rest of the Nationals team. So, when Washington won the National League Wildcard game, a moment which propelled the franchise to their first World Series in franchise history, Jen had a blast partying with Corbin, and there’s fantastic photo evidence. The All-Star pitcher posted a photo of Jen pouring a bottle of beer over his bead, while masterfully holding three more Budweisers in her other arm.

Patrick Corbin Yankees
Corbin was a Yankee fan since he was a little child. However, Patrick Corbin didn’t sign for Yankees when he grew up. The Yankees liked free agent Patrick Corbin, and he liked the Yankees. But in the end, the team wasn’t willing to be as aggressive as the Nationals or Phillies in pursing the lefthander and refused to budge from a five-year offer, according to major league sources.
Corbin received a six-year deal from Washington, as the Washington Post was first to report. The Yanks felt that trading for Seattle ace James Paxton bought them some leeway to avoid going crazy in the Corbin bidding. They did not see him as a must-have and watched as the Phillies and Nationals mounted more aggressive pursuits. If Corbin had wanted to take a discount, the Yankees would have welcomed him. Otherwise, he was headed elsewhere.
The Yanks will continue to work to fill their rotation. They are still pursuing J.A. Happ, but are not sure they want to offer a three-year contract to a 36-year-old. Happ made a strong first impression last season, though, so the sides could continue to talk. The Yankees could also pivot to trade discussions for Cleveland’s starting pitchers Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, or pursue Nathan Eovaldi and other free-agent options.
Patrick Corbin Nationals
On December 7, 2018, the Washington Nationals announced a six-year deal with Corbin worth $140 million. On July 2, 2019, Corbin chose to wear number 45 in his start against the Miami Marlins to honor the late Tyler Skaggs who died the day before. In 2019 he was 14-7 with a 3.25 ERA (8th in the NL) in 33 starts, in which he struck out 238 batters in 202.0 innings.
Cicero-North Syracuse graduate Patrick Corbin finished his first year in Washington in an incredible way Wednesday night. Corbin, who signed a six-year, $140 million deal with the Nationals in the offseason, tossed three scoreless innings of relief and was the winning pitcher as Washington rallied to beat the Houston Astros 6-2 in Game 7 of the World Series in Houston. It’s the franchise’s first world championship.
Corbin entered the game in the bottom of the sixth inning in relief of Nationals starter Max Scherzer with Houston holding a 2-0 lead. After pinch-hitter Jake Marisnick led off the inning with a single, Corbin struck out George Springer and got Jose Altuve to ground into a double play. In the top of the seventh, the Nationals scored three runs on a solo home run by Anthony Rendon and a two-run homer by Howie Kendrick, giving the Nats a 3-2 lead and making Corbin the pitcher of record for the Nats.
Corbin pitched two more innings, holding the Astros scoreless in the seventh and eighth. Corbin allowed two singles, struck out three and didn’t walk anyone in his three innings of work. Washington added a run in the eighth and two more in the ninth to make it 6-2. Corbin was lifted for Daniel Hudson, who pitched a scoreless ninth.
Corbin is a 2007 graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School and was drafted in the second round of the 2009 Major League Baseball amateur draft by the Los Angeles Angels.
Patrick Corbin News
In the baseball history books, there will be a name forever associated with Washington Nationals’ first-ever world title. Corbin, a Cicero-North Syracuse grad and Clay native is officially the winning pitcher of record for the Game 7 win for Washington as they topped Houston for the World Series.
Corbin pitched three brilliant and crucial innings, the 6th, 7th, and 8th to lead the Nationals to victory. A stretch where they went from down 2-0, to leading 6-2 thanks in part to a Howie Kendrick go-ahead home run. Pat finishes the postseason with a 2-3 record but incredibly those two wins come in clinching games- for the clinching Game 4 of the National League Championship Series and now Game 7 of the World Series.
Corbin signed a massive six-year, $140 million deal in the offseason to join the Nationals. If there were any doubters, Corbin and his teammates silenced them this season. His first season with Washington started with a 19-31 record in D.C. before a huge rally and of course now, a world championship. Corbin still helps local charities in Central New York every year, including “On My Team 16”.
