He brings more than twenty years of experience covering the Gulf Coast to the News 5 team, fifteen of them at WKRG. Since 1990, Peter has covered just about every aspect of life in Mobile and on the Gulf Coast, including the Alabama State Legislature, Mobile City Hall, Hurricanes Erin, Opal, Danny, Georges, Ivan and Katrina, and SEC and local sports. He helped launch News 5 at 5:00 in 1996. From 2000-2007, Peter was the managing editor and lead news anchor at the NBC-affiliate in Mobile.

Prior to his return to WKRG in January of 2013, Peter was the Director of Marketing & Economic Development for Mobile County. In that role, he was involved promoting local tourism and in the successful effort to recruit Airbus and other industries to Mobile.
Active in the community, Peter has served on the boards for the following organizations: the Mobile Sports Hall of Fame, Mobile Sports Authority, Economic Development Authority of Mobile, Baldwin, Washington, Escambia, and Clarke Counties, the Mobile Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau Marketing Committee, the Junior League of Mobile’s Advisory Board, Matthews Park Athletic Association, Mobile National Babe Ruth (Trimmier Park), Mobile National Little League (Maitre Park), St. Paul’s Episcopal School Parent Council, Ashland Place Pre-School Parent Council. Peter has also volunteered his time to several local charities. He was recently one of the local leaders taking part in the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign.
