As to how he learned he was gone is quite a story. According to a source, Daut was having trouble accessing his work email, so he sent an email to the work address from his personal email and got an auto-response that he no longer works there.

He then showed up at work and could not make it past security, his badge was taken away and he was told to leave the property.
