Radio Kaya Description
Radio Kaya is the leading regional radio station in the coastal region with a fast growing listenership base. It was established in July 2007 to meet the communications needs of the coastal people. Our main aim is to educate our listeners on their culture and to provide a forum for exchange of knowledge that will lead in the advancement of the local coastal communities.
We broadcast in the main Vernacular languages: Digo, Giriama and Duruma, while using one of the national languages (Kiswahili) to reach other segments of the region.
Our transition frequency is 93.1fm in Mombasa, 99.7fm in Malindi and 94.9fm Voi.

Beatrice Dama Kahindi A.K.A Tausi and Kura Tsuma A.K.A ‘The me’
This is a Mijikenda show that starts the day with discussions which span from social issues, politics and other issues that the listeners may introduce. The show is highly interactive where listeners get the opportunity to call in and participate in the day’s discussion.
KAYA FLAVAS: 9 A.M. TO 1 P.M.
Sister Shanniez A.K.A Anti- Virus
This is a popular show that targets the youth. It plays local and East African music popular with the youth. The show focuses on up and coming artistes giving them a chance to showcase their music.
MIRINDIMO YA KIMWAMBAO: 1 P.M. TO 4 P.M.
This is a show based on the modern Taarab music from across the borders. It is immensely popular with the female listeners from the region. It is an interactive show, with interesting topics daily ranging from love, family life and social issues. This show enjoys a lot of call-ins for requests.
DZILONI MBIDZO: 4 P.M. TO 7 P.M.
Pyukapyu Wa Pyukupyu (PPO)
This is a Mijikenda show, which touches on day to day topics within the region that affect the community. The show plays mainly the local traditional music. The discussions mainly dwell around social issues within the community, making the show a highly interactive one.
CHIKA CHIKA: 8 P.M. TO 10 P.M.
Pyukapyu Wa Pyukupyu (PPO)
This show plays favorites of the yester years targeting the older generation. It plays hits from the likes of Franco, Kanda Bongo man and much more. This show is hosted in Swahili with a little Mijikenda.
MISAKATO YA BANGO: 10 P.M. TO MIDNIGHT (MONDAY TO THURSDAY)
Show that focuses on Bango music which is popular during weddings in the coastal communities. The show has requests and call in with topic of discussion related to advice and social morals in the community.
