Randy Orton is an American professional wrestler and actor best known to sports entertainment audiences for his career he signed with WWE and performs on the SmackDown brand. He began training in 2000, at the age of 20 after he had served in the military for just a short period.
In 2001, he signed with the then-World Wrestling Federation and began training in its instructional program Ohio Valley Wrestling. In 2002, he made his debut at the WrestleMania X8 and won the match against Tommy Dreamer.

Ohio Valley Wrestling (2001–2002)
He signed a deal with the then World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 2001 and was sent to the developmental territory, Louisville, Kentucky, well known as the Ohio Valley Wrestling(OVW) where he continued with his training. He wrestled Rico Constantino and The Prototype and teamed with Bobby Eaton during a tag team title tournament during his time in OVW.
On February 14, 2001, he won OVW Hardcore Championship by defeating Mr. Black. On May 5, 2001, he defeated Flash Flanagan and once again won the OVW Hardcore Championship. He lost to John Cena(The Prototype) in a tag match on July 28 in Jacksonville, Indiana. During this time he fought in both WWF/OVW events. On May 1, 2001, he faced Billy Gunn during his first WWF house show that was not affiliated with OVW. He lost the match and in that fall he began appearing regularly in WWF.
Evolution (2002–2004)
He first appeared officially on the WWF on 16, 2002 at WrestleMania X8 and lost the game to Tommy Dreamer. On April 25, 2002, he had his very first televised WWF match against Hardcore Holly on SmackDown and he won the match. He soon became a fan favorite. He was drafted to the Raw brand, where he defeated Stevie Richards in his debut on the show in September 2002. He suffered a shoulder injury, within weeks of his debut.

Feud with The Undertaker (2005−2006)
He lost his hyped match against the Undertaker at the WrestleMania 21. He later stated that the match with the Undertaker had aggravated a shoulder injury. He later rekindled his feud with The Undertaker and defeated him at SummerSlam following a distraction from his father. Randy and his father Bob Orton defeated The Undertaker in a handicap casket match and after the match, his father Bob and him locked the Undertaker in the casket at No Mercy. Later The Undertaker defeated both Randy and his father in the Hell in a Cell match ending their nine-month-long feud.
