Rebecca Thomas is an American journalist currently working for FOX 7 Austin as an anchor. She joined FOX 7 News at 5, 9, and 10 p.m. in September 2015. Rebecca has worked for FOX News for more than 18 years. Prior to joining FOX News, Rebecca was previously working for ABC and then CBS affiliate.
During her time in Arizona, she covered the state’s controversial immigration law SB 1070 and she was one of the first reporters on the scene of the tragic Yarnell Hill wildfire that killed 19 hotshot firefighters from Prescott.

Her grandfather was the editor of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner in the 1960s and 1970s and her uncle is a retired photographer and photo editor for the Los Angeles Times. Rebecca initially planned to follow in their footsteps and work as a newspaper reporter, but a college internship at KUSI in San Diego changed that.
