She later went on to star in both television and film, rising to greater prominence with roles like Dana in Friday (1995), as Marcee Tidwell in Jerry Maguire (1996), Riley and Huey Freeman on the hit animated series The Boondocks, and Detective Lydia Adams on Southland. She earned two Critics’ Choice Award nominations for Southland, for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2012 and 2013.
