Lovelis began her career as she formed a group called ‘Cherry Bomb’ in 2008 while in middle school along with her sister, Nia, Julia Pierce, lead vocalist, and Miranda, backup vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Later, in 2011they signed with Hollywood Record and released their first EP Stark 2011. On May 5, 2012, they released their first studio album, ‘This Is the End of Control’ which was praised and lauded by critics.
This album reached #11 on the Top Heatseekers chart and #24 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart. After one year, their lead vocalist, Julia Pierce left the crew then Rena stepped up as a lead vocalist and rebranded the band as ‘Hey Violet’ in 2015.
