After Rhett and his friend Link graduated from college they begn working as engineers they later quit their job to shift their focus to their Christian evangelism with Cru. The duo made comedic videos for meetings and conferences this is after they were inspired by the host at the first weekly Cru meeting they attended as freshman at North Carolina State University. Afterwards the duo transitioned to making comedic YouTube videos full-time, without Christian ministry.
Under their production company Mythical Entertainment, the duo run a numerous media properties, some starring themselves and some featuring other performers.
