Rob Riggle is an American actor and comedian best known for his work as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show from 2006 to 2008, as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2004 to 2005, and for his comedic roles in films.
After obtaining his pilot’s license Riggle joined the Marines in 1990, intending to become a Naval Aviator, but left flight school to pursue his comedy career.
Riggle was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and regularly referred to his combat experiences on The Daily Show, including serving as the “Political Expert” show and openly boasting that he might kill every other member of the show. In August 2007, Riggle went to Iraq to report on The Daily Show and to entertain the troops under the U.S. Office ‘s authority.
Riggle served in Liberia, Kosovo, Albania, and Afghanistan as a public affairs officer with a New York City-based unit.
