Robert Ben has had a notable career, starting as a cast member on the MTV sketch comedy series “The State” from 1993 to 1995. In 2003, he, along with Thomas Lennon and Kerri Kenney-Silver, also members of The State, created the mockumentary show “Reno 911!” for Comedy Central. In this show, Garant portrayed the character Deputy Travis Junior.

Garant and Lennon have formed a successful writing partnership, collaborating on various screenplays, including those for the popular “Night at the Museum” films. Their collective work in the film industry has garnered over $1.4 billion in box office revenue alone. In 2010, they created a sitcom pilot for NBC titled “The Strip,” and in the same year, they worked on a pilot for FX called “USS Alabama,” a sci-fi/comedy set in the distant future, but neither pilot was picked up.
