Career
Demery’s career in law enforcement started in the United States Navy, where he operated in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. After exiting the Navy, he joined the Shreveport Police Department in Louisiana, where he operated as a homicide detective in the violent crimes unit for 14 years.
In 2016, Demery quit the Shreveport Police Department while he continued to work as a special homicide investigator for the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office. He is also a regular speaker and trainer on homicide investigation and law enforcement topics.
Apart from his work in law enforcement, Demery is an author. He wrote the book titled No Place for Race: Why We Need to Address Economic and Social Factors That Are Crushing Us Every Day, which was published in the year 2017.
