Roger Meddows Taylor is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and multiple-instrumentalist who is well known as the drummer for the rock band queen. Taylor was recognized early in his career for his unique sound.
He was voted by radio listeners as the eighth-greatest drummer in classic rock music history in a poll conducted by Planet Rock in 2005. Taylor is also the main writer on the international top-ten hit “One Vision”, although the track is credited to the whole band. He had also worked with Freddie Mercury at Kensington Market.
In 2010, after nearly twelve years between solo albums, Taylor planned to release a new studio album titled The Unblinking Eye. The first single, of the same name, was released on 23 November 2009 as a digital download, but due to popular demand, it was released as a limited-edition single.
