Ron Bennington Biography
Ron Bennington is an American radio personality and comedian, who is currently the co-host of Bennington and host of Unmasked. Similarly, he has co-hosted a number of radio shows, including The Ron and Ron Show and The Ron and Fez Show.
Initially, Bennington opened the Ron Bennington’s Comedy Scene In 1986, in Clearwater, Florida: coincidentally, he met longtime friend Ron Diaz, on whose radio show he plugged his club, and immediately form the morning radio program called The Ron and Ron Show at Tampa Bay’s WYNF-FM, known as 95YNF.
The show had immense rating success and due to that, Ron decided to change its name to “Radio’s Bad Boys”. Consequently, he partnered with their agent Ross Reback to create The Ron Radio Network to own and control the programming.
Bennington and Reback
The show’s last broadcast for WYNF was on 12th March 1993. Agent Reback progressively became President and CEO of the newly formed network and quickly settled a deal to air the show in best cities likes Miami, FL, Orlando, FL, and Jacksonville, Florida with another dozen markets soon following. Ron Diaz declared his departure in early 1997, and on September 29, 1997, the show ended.
Bennington and Fez Whatley
After the last episodes of “The Ron and Ron Show”, Bennington began working with Fez Whatley to create “The Ron and Fez Show”, which began broadcasting in different cities before settling in New York City’s WNEW-FM, running from 2000 to 2003 when the station decided to end the talk show format.
Ron and Fez then relocated to WJFK-FM in Washington D.C. and aired for another two years, after which they moved to XM Satellite Radio in New York, also establishing a website, numerous programs, and even collaborative shows.
The two also made guest appearances on other stations, talking about numerous topics including sports, politics, and much more. The duo also made regular appearances around Washington D.C., mostly to promote or participate in several events. “The Ron and Fez Show” would still run for ten good years before Whatley hugs the mic in 2015.
